La Nouba is shown at the Walt Disney World Resort, the theater of the Walt Disney World theme park, in Orlando, Florida since December 23rd 1998. The show will be performed permanently at the site. There are more than 70 artists from around the world. As all Soleil shows the performer list includes gymnasts, acrobats, dancers and clowns. There is the original musical score, extraordinary costumes, almost surreal sets, dazzling theatrical lighting and impressively high-energy choreography. La Nouba is an unforgettable 90-minute tapestry of life, art and high drama performed on an Elizabethan-style stage. The theater has the capacity of 1,671 and is designed to engage and delight audiences.

La Nouba, the title is taken from the French expression "faire la Nouba," meaning "to party, to live it up." La Nouba is the transformation of the ordinary into the extraordinary. The show engages the imagination from beginning to end. The show features mesmerizing high wire and flying trapeze, a gravity-defying squadron of BMX bikes, stunning acro-gymnastic performances, in addition to the usual accompaniment of clowns, ballerinas, and trapeze artists. The show is a dynamic display of coordination and strength. La Nouba is a performance that promises to surprise, excite and mystify.

La Nouba is memory, both individual and universal. It challenges us to uncover passions that we thought we had lost long ago. La Nouba is the story of two types of families or groups. There is the magic and fantasy of the colorful Cirques or the circus people and the monochromatic world of the Urbains or urbanites. The interplay between these two groups is what holds the story together and makes it stand out. La Nouba is a show that sparks our curiosity and feeds our imagination.

The theater is the first freestanding permanent theater built for Cirque du Soleil. The set is a dynamic white structure designed to convey elegance and sensuality. The addition of fabric and tension makes it reminiscent of a Big Top. The contrasting black interior of the showroom transports the audience to another world when they enter the theater. When you look up you see the seven cloud-like Fabulous Figures built to decorate the ceiling of the showroom. There are two platforms for the musicians housed in the 75-foot towers on both sides of the stage. Thus the show is as much an attraction as the venue. The show is a huge success and attracts 1,650 spectators twice daily, five days a week.
