Very few artists and groups get the lightening fast success and Cirque Éloize is one of them. Cirque Éloize is the group or company of few selected performers who have performed in some 200 cities and 20 countries worldwide. And in that their artistic sensibility, originality and virtuosity have captured the heart of more than three million spectators. Thus, apart from that Cirque Éloize is still continuing its thrilling journey of developing productions that innovate and inspire. Cirque Éloize is the group of seven young and vibrant performers graduated from Montreal's National Circus School hailing from Magdelan Islands. These seven performers joined hands in 1993 with only one aim that is to offer a fresh look on circus arts by designing shows for general audiences of any language. And to be honest they have justified their aim to a very great extent. They made their debut in a theatre rather than under the big top, enchanted first Québec and then the United States, Europe and Asia.
After this performance there was no looking back and they are still going strong. In 1997 Cirque Éloize launched their second production, Excentricus, a mélange of circus arts, dance and music. This production gave a new meaning to the circus as instead of serving up the usual circus standards, 15 marvelous performers transformed the stage, creating a subtle and emotionally rich new world. This production was a massive success and was presented over 550 times at different venues, including the Edinburgh Festival and other prestigious international festivals of the performing arts. Furthermore, the show also sold out the Sydney Opera House and ran for a month at Sadler's Wells in London. But in 1999 Cirque Éloize decided to break the monotonous circus and took on the challenge of writing and producing an original work blending circus arts, contemporary dance and classical music. Thus, in February 2002 the troupe performed Cirque Orchestra at New York's Lincoln Center accompanied by the famed Orchestra of St. Luke's. After the stupendous success the group traveled to Tokyo for five performances at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall before returning to North America. Therein they entertained 25,000 people over two evenings at the mythic Hollywood Bowl with accompaniment by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. That's why tickets to their shows are hard to fetch and people tend to book them well in advance.
Recently their latest production titled Rain-Comme une pluie dans tes yeux was also a hit and it reunited the Nomade - At night, the sky is endless' team of creators with Director Daniele Finzi Pasca, a multi-talented artist renown for the sensibility and poetry of his work. This production is still running packed houses and if it is playing or coming to your town then just book your tickets now from the closest ticketing vendor and enjoy their acrobatic stunts to the fullest.
