Do Jump Movement Theater was founded in 1977 by Robin Lane. Headquartered in Portland, Orgean this modern dance company has become the oldest living arts organization if its kind. Do Jump! subtitled "Extremely Physical Theater", aimed at creating a unique form of dance theater that is provocative fusion of dance, acrobatics, aerial work, mischievous humor and music. The talented troupe has performed on Broadway in New York.
The members, known for their versatile performances include Wendy Cohen, Heather Pearl, Daniela Steiner, Aaron Wheeler-Kay, Kelli Wilson and Robin Woolman.

Echo Theater, the troupe's main performance venue was a silent-movie house. The theater was renovated in 1983 by Lane and Company and is now the most celebrated center for promoting art and culture in Portland. Next year, Do Jump Movement Theater School was formed to teach unique style of movement. The Echo provides Do Jump! with rehearsal and performance space and is home to the Do Jump Movement School. The School aims at building confidence, versatility and grace in a creative environment. It holds classes in trapeze, acrobatics, physical theater, and circus skills to children and adults.

Members of Do Jump appeared in the movie What the Bleep Do We Know!? , which was released in Portland, and stars Marlee Matlin. From the company's inception, Lane has produced 12 full-length works as well as a large collection of single performance pieces. The performances are not only visually diverse, but also express her themes with poignancy and humor that celebrate individual creativity and community spirit.

The theater is recognized for the way it combines acrobatics and dance with live music and humor to create a world of wonder where humans dance in the air, a place where athletics meets with aesthetics.
