Born on July 22, 1943 in Yokohama, Japan, Dr. Masaru Emoto is a controversial figure now. His claim regarding water experiments has caused many scientists raise their eyebrows.

Dr. Masaru's photographs have been featured in the 2004 film What t?e Bleep Do ?S (k)pow!? Which is directed by followers of Ramtha. In the film it has been tried to show that the water crystals are created only by mental effort.

Another controversial researcher named Dr. Wiliam A. Tiller is also featured in the movie. Dr. William has pointed out that Dr. Masaru's experiments fall short on some grounds. He says that Dr. Masaru's experiment only monitor the water contaminants and the rate of cooling, but he has neglected to measure and control a third important factor that is involved in the supercooling of water.
