There something very catchy about this musical that holds your undivided attention. This delightful dance musical which has been conceived and directed by Luis Bravo is a combination of very aggressive sensual dancing and perky beats. There is something about Tango that instantly draws people and if ticket sales are anything to go by the audience for this musical is steadily growing.
The best part about the musical is that it is extraordinarily simple whereby we have a company of 14 effortless dancers and a dozen outstanding musicians, on a very bare stage lit to look a lot like a starry summer night. As we start enjoying the play we find that Fernando Marzan's romantic piano is as good as ever, as was the soulful Bravo's own cello playing on the first opening night. One of the improvements this time around are a delightful young couple who are given the crucial ``Tanguera'' number that starts the second act; Hugo Patyn and Carolina Garcia. We can describe her figure as a picturesque monumental multitude of curves resting on beautiful legs that go on forever. This coupled with his compact, mercurial and speedy physique is irresistible. His gaze is oh so intense and searching, her abandon almost borders on obscene and as the pair dance for each other, the chemistry is al so obvious for the to audience watch.
In addition we continue to have the familiar faces and longing sounds retaining their great power to surprise us thoroughly. Carlos Vera and Laura Marcarie, are the show's most happening and glamorous couple, as well as the luminous and effervescent Karina Piazza and the irresistible Jorge Torres give pleasure to us with every performance.
The comedy essayed by the duo of Luis Castro and Claudia Mendoza camouflage electrifying technique with multiple layers of laughter. Then we have Miriam Larci, who springs out from a giant bandoneon in the prologue to the show, and is almost impossibly beautiful to behold. However the very best of all is Cesar Coelho, probably the most exhilarating Argentine dancer. Here we have a young modern dancer who effortlessly could probably do anything he chooses but is undoubtedly doing what he loves doing best. They say it really does take two to do a tango, but here this young dancer's real partner is just about everyone in the audience and the best part is no one seemed to mind.
If you have not seen this outstanding mixture of music and dance, you should. In case you already have, chances are that you already are planning to see it again with your loved ones. Book your tickets online and be enthralled by the magic of Tango.
