Over the years the role of Sandy has been played and skated by the acclaimed and talented skater Nancy Kerrigan. Nancy Kerrigan born in Stoneham, Massachusetts on 13th October, 1969, has many skating awards to her name. Twice she has been the winner of Olympic medals and a US Champion in 1993. Nancy developed interest in skating at a very young age. At six she has started skating. When nine she won her first figure skating medal. Her major competition was the 1991 World Figure Skating Championship. In the competition Nancy was the winner of a bronze medal. In the 1992 Winter Olympics she won a bronze medal while at the 1992 World Championships she received a silver medal. She became the United States Champion in the next season.
On 6th January, 1994 Nancy was assaulted on knee by Shane Stant. Shane Stant was hired by Jeff Gillooly , ex husband of
Tonya Harding and friend Shawn Eckhardt to attack Nancy. But just after the month of the attack Nancy Kerrigan giving a superb performance in the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer won her silver medal. She was just behind Oksana Baiul.

Grease on Ice was showcased in 1998 in Philadelphia which was a very successful show featuring Scott Davis as Kenickie, Nancy Kerrigan as Sandy and Gig Siruno. The show was loved by the audience for the superb performance given by all the skaters. The story of the film was very well acted by all the skaters. It should be said that the skaters were equally enjoying their performance. Nancy playing as Sandy skated with perfection. She landed all her jumps and her performance looked effortless. Her biggest solo song was " It's Raining on Prom Night". The sets of the show were also center of attraction for the creative genius involved in preparing the sets. The 1998 show also saw the participation of the audience when the organizers of the show asked the audience to choose any song from the 1950's and can dedicate to any one. It allowed lot of people's participation and the audience throughly enjoyed the music. Later in the show the skaters led the audience to dance along to the hand jive.
