Both have been engaged for last fourteen years. Nathan Detroit soon finds himself in deep trouble as his floating game is facing the danger of being close down due to police action. He finds a new venue for his business a Biltmore garage. He can only establish his game here after giving $1000 deposit money to the owner of the garage.
His requirement for money leads him to meet a gambler named Sky Masterson. Nathan bets with Masterson and challenges him to take for dinner a sister of Save a Soul Mission, Sarah Brown. Nathan is assured of the bet that Masterson will definitely loose this bet. But the problems of Nathan only multiplies when he comes to know that Masterson has succeeded in taking Sarah Brown for dinner. Love blossoms between Sarah and Materson in the date.
The first Broadway production of Guys & Dolls was on 24th November, 1950 at 46th Street Theatre. It received a Tony Award in 1952.
