Guys and Dolls, as a play, needs no introduction. It is perfect in its entirety and is also a rarity: a show from 1950 that is need of no revision in order to be mounted today. The play is based on Daymon Runyon's short story, 'The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown'. It is also blessed with matchless music by Frank Loesser, creating a timeless world populated by caricatured archetypes (the prim religious warrior, the dizzy moll, the gentleman gangster, etc.) who possess a deep undercurrent of humanity that transcends their respective types.

One test of a classic is that is can take numerous successful productions and that fact is underlined by 'Guys and Dolls'. The inherent enduring quality of the work transposes itself on to any production and makes it a contemporary classic. The appeal of the play cuts across all ages, and this has seen the play achieve a never ending popularity. So, if you are looking to spend an evening at the theatre and want some fun and entertainment on the way, then the one important piece of paper you must have with you are the tickets to 'Guys and Dolls'

'Guys and Dolls' is the story of group of small-time gamblers and the ladies that form a part of their lives. Sky Masterson, is challenged by his pal Nathan Detroit, to make the next lady he sees fall in love with him, and the stage is set for an evening of lively entertainment, when the next 'doll' turns out to be the prim and proper neighbourhood missionary Sarah Brown. Award winning Artistic Director, Michael Grandage, directs Donmar Warehouse's new production of Guys and Dolls, starring Adam Cooper, and Neil Morrissey with Sally Ann Triplett and Kelly Price. The actors complement each other wonderfully and new light is shed on the characters, by the director. Moreover, the set and costume designs match the cartoonish aspects of the show.

This is a very strong production of the most exhilarating shows, Broadway has ever produced. Credit must also be given to the classic musical score by Frank Loesser. The music alone is worth the price of admission. But, what comes of best in this exciting revival is the comedy. It is hard to not be entertained by Guys and Dolls. So all you theatre lovers, watch out 'Guys and Dolls' is in town, go get your tickets now!
