Hal Holbrook who was born as Harold Rowe Holbrook, Jr on 7th February, 1925 is a Tony Award winner. He is most noted for playing the one man show Mark Twain Tonight! which has garnered him immense popularity. Mark Twain Tonight! has been both an Off Broadway and Broadway show. Halbrook has not only be seen in theater show but also in several movies and television shows. Lock Haven State Teachers College in Pennsylvania was the venue for the first performance of Mark Twain Tonight by Halbrook in 1954. He was lucky one that among the audience of the show one was Ed Sullivan. Who gave Halbrook a big break by casting him in his show in 1956. Through the show Halbrook was now known to the whole country. Halbrook further gained international fame when he was sent to Europe where he gave a memorable performance in Iron Curtain. Mark Twain Tonight was broad casted on television which gave Hal Habrook an Emmy Award. In 1966 Mark Twain Tonight! Gave him a Tony Award when it had Broadway performance.
