Hitchcock Blonde is a play written and directed by Terry Johnson. It takes places simultaneously over three time frames. In 1999, a college professor Alex buys a cellar full of old film footage. Among the damaged stock he discovers several cans of a completely unknown Alfred Hitchcock film dated 1919. Alex sets out with his student Nicola, in order to study the remaining contents of the film cans from that movie. Playing on their shared love of Hitchcock films, Alex manages to lure Nicola to his villa in Greece where he has the damaged films.

In 1959, the body double for Janet Leigh in the film "Psycho" struggles with an abusive relationship with her husband, while discussing her ambitions and filming duties with Alfred Hitchcock. The events of 1919 are slowly uncovered in the remaining few pieces of the unfinished movie. The mystery of the play lies in the truth of what is really happening between the characters in each of these three time frames.

The play is presented with the scenes alternating between modern day Greece and the 1959 production
of Psycho, the events of 1919 are portrayed by the stills from the movie projected on the walls of the stage. Hitchcock Blonde is not in any manner specifically about Alfred Hitchcock, but he does make a cameo appearance.

The designs, lighting, effects, costumes and music all create a captivating atmosphere and perfectly capture the surreal quality of the story and make the ambiance feel like a cinema.

Terry Johnson has done a great job in directing such a complex story without loosing the audience, David Haig plays the role of the professor, while Fiona Glascott plays his cynical, sharp-witted student who could still fall under his spell. Rosamund Pike does a great job in presenting the body double as a complex woman, torn between modesty and ambition. Playing Hitchcock is William Hootkins. William Dudley's designs that include some very effective video projections keep the play's multiple settings distinct.

Be a part of this thrilling and engrossing play, put together by Terry Johnson, with fantastic performances from the cast. It is an event you don't want to give a miss to. Contact your on line ticket vendor and book the tickets in advance.
